Quality Control Technician/Manager Charlotte, NC

THE CHALLENGE for the Quality Control Technician/Manager

The Quality Control Technician/Manager will manage the flow of our precast concrete product produced at our contract manufacturers all over the country.

As the Quality Control Technician Manager, you will:

  • Oversee Third Party Quality Assurance Contractors and act as a QA for our local precaster
  • Be a manufacturing expert for our precast concrete boardwalk product
  • Make sure the PermaTrak’s quality standards are properly defined, communicated, and met
  • Understand concrete forms
  • Develop and maintain production schedules with our network of precast partners based on customer delivery need dates
  • Participate in weekly production update meetings with PermaTrak team
  • Submit timely post plant visit reports to Regional Operations Manager documenting any ongoing plant quality or efficiency issues
  • Continually educate and train precast partner and quality control personnel 
  • Participate in new production partner evaluation
  • Trouble shoot plant quality issues
  • Manage inventory of miscellaneous parts for our boardwalk system
  • Manage our inventory of steel forms

The ideal Quality Control Technician/Manager will:

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of precast concrete production processes
  • Hold current NPCA PQS Level I and Level II certifications for production or be willing to obtain certifications.
  • Have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously and independently
  • Be able to troubleshoot production and quality issues with our manufacturers
  • Be organized and detail oriented
  • Will travel when needed

As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for driving technical marketing, promotion and sales of our precast concrete boardwalk system by providing technical knowledge and consultative solution development to owners, architects, engineers and contractors primarily in the greenway and trail construction industry.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Identify, consult and implement boardwalk solutions to meet customer needs 
  • Employ technical expertise in boardwalk applications to gather pertinent project information providing guidance and direction to our clients
  • Conduct sales presentations (both in person and virtually) and obtains favorable specifications for our product
  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships and business opportunities with current and prospective customers including specifying architects, engineers, and agencies.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy with contractors and owners for our precast boardwalk system.
  • Operate a defined and proven marketing and sales system in a disciplined manner, striving to continuously improve in the areas of Consultative Marketing and Transactional Selling.
  • Develops client relationships and business opportunities in assigned area.
  • Technical Expertise in the boardwalk applications of our precast boardwalk system. 
  • Develops both budget pricing for initial project design along with final project pricing strategy during Transactional Sales Process.
  • Leads territory field marketing efforts directed at public and regulatory agencies for precast boardwalk system.


  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years of work experience;
  • Ability to communicate technical information, concepts and applications using consultative marketing skills in both a one on one environment and a formal public speaking environment.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Diligent use of a CRM system to manage marketing and sales activities.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to travel when needed.
CAD Designer Charlotte, NC

THE CHALLENGE for the CAD Designer

The CAD Designer will support our engineering team with the creation of engineering documents for our precast concrete boardwalk system that is used throughout North America.

As the CAD Designer, you will:

  • Efficiently produce full sets of construction and fabrication drawings for review and approval
  • Prioritize assigned projects based on date due
  • Review & Submit drawings with peers as needed, before design staff reviews
  • Develop and maintain standard and custom details
    • Continually upgrade and automate PermaTrak standards (i.e., DH CAD)
    • Use of CAD blocks for details
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Operate according to PermaTrak’s core values
  • Ability to work on Multiple fast-paced projects within a team and sharing workloads to meet deadlines
  • Highly organized, punctual, detail-oriented
  • Report to CAD Manager
  • Work directly with structural engineers 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Participate in engineering workload meetings as required
  • Thorough knowledge of AutoCad and willingness to learn and grow

The ideal CAD Designer will:

  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Experience in structural drafting.
  • 2+ years experience in CAD design in AutoCad
  • Experience creating structural / Fabrication drawings
  • Knowledge of procedures for production of design development and construction documents, and a thorough knowledge of structural planning, drafting, detailing and materials
  • Comfortable using MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously and independently
  • Be organized and detail oriented
