Structural Designer – Job Description/Duties

  • Reports to Director of Engineering
  •  Operate according to PermaTrak’s core values
  • Participate in engineering workload meetings as required
  • Occasional travel
  • Use AutoCAD to produce accurate construction drawings and shop drawings
  • Use DH CAD (proprietary PermaTrak software) to develop preliminary drawings
    for sales team
  • Perform structural calculations for PermaTrak components
  • Understand and apply relevant sections of AASHTO, ACI, ASCE and governing
    building codes
  • Peer review and check drawings for accuracy
  • Develop a high level of understanding for our precast concrete boardwalk
    product and manufacturing practices

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Civil Engineering Technology
  • Proficient in AutoCad
  • Ability to work on fast-paced projects
  • Ability to work within a team, sharing workloads to meet deadlines
  • Highly organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects
  • Ability to understand/read construction drawings from consultants
  • Ability to develop full sets of construction and fabrication drawings
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills
    Able to work under minimal supervision

Inside Project Consultant

PermaTrak is growing and is looking for an Inside Project Consultant who embodies PermaTrak’s Core Virtues and Beliefs. The position is based in our Charlotte, NC office. PermaTrak is the world leader in precast concrete boardwalk systems. As an Inside Project Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the outside sales team in driving technical marketing, promotion and sales of our precast concrete boardwalk system by providing technical knowledge and consultative solution development to owners, architects, engineers and contractors primarily in the greenway and trail construction industry.  
 
The Inside Project Consultant carries out responsibilities in accordance with PermaTrak’s values and strategies. Ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity and respect providing an environment for success. Clearly communicates expectations and accountabilities for performance helping team members see the link between individual performance and company achievement of its strategic plan. Be part of a team by operating collaboratively across functions, recognizing good performance and providing regular feedback.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain professional relationships and business opportunities with current and prospective customers including specifying architects, engineers and agencies.
  • Help customers determine needs versus wants of boardwalk system.
  • Respond to sales leads both on phone and email.
  • Operate a defined and proven marketing and sales system in a disciplined manner, striving to
    continuously improve in the areas of Consultative Marketing and Transactional Selling.
  • Develops client relationships and business opportunities in assigned area.
  • Technical Expertise in the boardwalk applications of our precast boardwalk system.
  • Develops both budget pricing for initial project design along with final project pricing strategy during
    Transactional Sales Process.
  • Systematic follow up on projects in unassigned sales regions.
  • Support outside sales team with project development consultations and estimates.
  • Ability to generate engineering concepts in AutoCad.
  • Other duties as assigned.  
     
Required
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • 3 or more years of work experience.
  • Ability to communicate technical information, concepts and applications using consultative marketing skills verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with CAD and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Diligent use of a CRM system to manage marketing and sales activities.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Limited travel when needed.
