CAD Designer Charlotte, NC

What We’re Looking For
PermaTrak, an industry leader in the precast concrete boardwalk market, is a quickly growing small business based in Charlotte, NC. We are currently looking for a full-time designer to add to our team and grow with our company. The position involves developing full sets of construction and fabrication drawings, as well as building and maintaining block libraries and CAD standards.

Location: This position is located in Charlotte, NC.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our engineers in preparing installation drawings (layout drawings) and shop
    drawings for manufacturing of our precast boardwalk system.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 2+ years experience in AutoCAD (latest version preferred)
  • Experienced in structural detailing, specifically precast concrete
  • Bridge experience or transportation experience a plus
  • Familiar with structural steel and reinforced concrete
  • Familiar with site design/development a plus
  • Ability to develop full sets of construction and fabrication drawings
  • Experienced in working with XREF files
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Familiar with Box (file document storage)
  • Ability to work on fast-paced projects
  • Ability to work within a team, sharing workloads to meet deadlines
  • Highly organized, punctual, detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple projects
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work under minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in precast concrete is a plus
  • Construction experience is a plus
Structural Engineer Charlotte, NC

PermaTrak is growing and looking for a Structural Engineer in our Charlotte, NC location. In the Structural Engineer role, you will have the opportunity to serve as Project Manager, Client Manager, and Project Engineer. Are you an impact player? Do you like to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment? Is your word your bond (if you tell someone you are going to do something, they know with certainty it will be completed accurately and correctly)? Can you plan and prioritize your day without being micro-managed? If you love to solve problems and continue to learn, then we’re the place for you!

Experience and Responsibilities:

  • Design and Project Management experience with a focus on Client Satisfaction and Quality
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering
  • Concrete Design experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer a plus
  • Experienced in the design of concrete, precast concrete products, and foundations systems (spread footings, concrete piers, piles, and specialty piers such as helical or micropiles)
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Serve as Structural Project Engineer
  • Provide technical guidance and solution development to Sales
  • Provide oversight of structural engineering projects
  • Solve field engineering issues with contractors
  • Lead and participate in weekly engineering workload meetings
  • Mentor junior engineering design team members
Entry Level Structural Engineer Charlotte, NC

Experience and Responsibilities: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural focus (ABET Accredited Degree) or related field required 
  • EI required, with expected growth towards obtaining PE licensure
  • Excellent project management skills 
  • Excellent organizational and scheduling skills 
  • Strong verbal, written and editing skills
  • Experience in concrete design
  • Structural bridge design and/or pier/pile foundation design experience a plus
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Candidate needs to be a team player, who can also work independently with minimal supervision
  • Candidate should be capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines
