PermaTrak Support for Installers

What you need to know to install PermaTrak concrete boardwalks efficiently and successfully.

Quick Access Installation Videos

Traditional Construction

Traditional construction is our most common method and often the most cost-effective approach.

  • When to use: Most projects where site access allows
  • Equipment: Varies based on foundations. Often standard cranes, excavators, or skid steers
  • Timeline: Typical installation time varies; however the boardwalk above was completed in just 10 days!
  • Cost impact: Generally the most economical installation method

Top-Down Construction

Required for wetland projects, restricted access sites, or when environmental permits mandate installation from above.

  • When required: Wetlands, dense forests, or permit restrictions
  • How it works: Equipment operates on already-installed boardwalk sections
  • Three methods available: Helical piers, vibrated piles, or ground-based foundations
  • Planning note: Requires coordination between equipment size and boardwalk structural capacity

See our detailed guide on top-down construction and building through wetlands here.
